Rio Pardo Region
The Rio Pardo coffee region, situated between Mogiana and South Minas, is celebrated for producing high-quality coffee beans. Blessed with the perfect combination of altitude, climate, and soil conditions, this region creates an optimal environment for coffee cultivation. The resulting beans boast a balanced acidity, medium body, and distinctive notes of chocolate, nutty undertones, and a hint of stone fruit. Local farmers adhere to traditional cultivation methods, emphasising sustainability to preserve the rich biodiversity of the area.
Processing
The Monteiro Lobato blend is a testament to the commitment to flavour consistency and meticulous craftsmanship. Crafted by Ocafi from neighbouring farms surrounding Ocafi’s Farm Fazenda Pinheiro, each lot is carefully selected based on various factors, including distinct flavour profiles, bean density, and colour matching for uniformity. The beans undergo a natural processing method, spending around 12 days on the patio to optimise their unique characteristics. Following this, they spend 10 hours in mechanical dryers to ensure precise moisture control. The final touch involves 15 days in wooden Tulhas (silos), allowing the beans to stabilise and develop their rich, nuanced flavours.
